  1. Real Leaders understand the balance of principles and profit. If the measure of a non-profit is it's level of serving, then output must be measured not only in funding, but in core relationships and measurable accomplishments. It is one thing to say youe non-profit raised $32,000 in donations during the fiscal year. It means more however, if your organization raised $32,000, of which $5,000 was invested in a community health initiative, school ,etc.

    Having principles comes down to the leader leading a life of consistency in all aspects of his/her life, and the life of the organization.
